The Wysoki Kamień (German Hochstein ) is a 1058 m high mountain in the Jizera Mountains . It forms the eastern cornerstone of the High Iserkamm (Wysoki Grzbiet) , northwest of Szklarska Poręba (Schreiberhau). The view from the summit stretches from the Jizera Mountains to the Giant Mountains , Hirschberg Valley , Bober-Katzbach Mountains and Landeshuter Kamm .
geology
The basic building block of the mountain is the so-called Giant Mountains granite. The rock formations in the summit area are formed by weather-resistant Hornfels. The southern slopes consist of carbonic granites, gneiss and mica schist.
history
In 1837, Count Schaffgotsch had a hut built on the summit, and in 1875 a hut with a lookout tower was built. The buildings were destroyed by fire in 1882 but quickly rebuilt. At the end of the Second World War, the building was devastated and robbed, but opened to tourists in 1947 with a few beds. The Wysoki Kamień Hut was built in 2010.
