History of origin
In 1985 an EP was released under the title X-Mas Project - Bangin 'Round the X-Mas Tree . The Christmas carols Jingle Bells , Silent Night, Holy Night , Winter Wonderland and White Christmas were covered. Toto from Living Death and Reent Fröhlich from Fact sang two songs each. The guitars were played by Axel Rudi Pell and Thomas Eder, both at Steeler at the time , and Martin Bork from Lion's Breed took over the drums .
In 1986 the project released the EP with additional tracks as an album on Shark Records . Peter "Peavy" Wagner ( Rage ) and Sabina Classen (at that time with Holy Moses ) took part as additional singers and the previously permanent band took on more of a project character. So the guitars and bass were changed, only Jörg Michael played on all the songs on the album. For the first time, with All Years Again , Oh, Tannenbaum and Leise der Schnee , German-language Christmas carols were set to music in metal garb.
The project fell asleep for a while, but then released a new album in 1995. Here, too, tracks from the EP and the first album were reused. “Gerre” by Tankard and members of the band Holy Mother and Capricorn completed the line-up this time. From 1998 both CDs were no longer available. In 2002 the record company Rusty Diamonds Records released a compilation of both albums.
