history
The roller coaster opened on 12 January 2002 under the name X . The runway opened for season ticket holders on December 24, 2001. Due to technical problems, the train did not run between June 5, 2002 and August 12, 2002. In November 2007, Six Flags announced that the train was getting new trains and new visual and audio effects. Since 2008 it has been operating under the new name X² .
particularities
When boarding, the passenger initially sits opposite to the direction of travel and is turned on their back after the loading process has been completed. This is done by means of an adjustable rail underneath the actual running rails. Now the passenger lies face up in the seat and rolls head first to the lift hill. The individual carriages are turned slightly on the lift hill so that people sit horizontally. Once the train has arrived at a height of 53 m, passengers can expect a little predrop before the first drop . At its apex, the seats turn 180 degrees forward so that the passenger falls face down on the 66 m high descent (see picture above right). Shortly before the train goes back to the horizontal, the seats roll a 360 ° forward so that the high g-forces of 4 g do not affect the head. The further course of the route includes two inversions and two new types of driving elements, so-called raven turns . The wagons are always rotated to different degrees along the rest of the route.
Trains
X² has three trains with seven cars each. Four people (one row of four) can be seated in each carriage. They are 6.1 m wide, wing-like prototype vehicles. The rotation of the individual pairs of seats is controlled by a guide rail attached below the running rail. Thus, they are not, as is often claimed, mounted independently and freely rotatable, but are rotated on certain route sections by this same guide rail.
The passengers must be at least 1.22 m tall to be allowed to ride.
