Xiao Hailiang ( Chinese  肖海亮 , Pinyin Xiào Hǎiliàng , born January 24, 1977 in Wuhan ) is a former Chinese water diver . He started first in high diving and later in 3-meter artificial and synchronized diving . He won a gold and a bronze medal in two Olympic Games .

Xiao Hailiang started diving at the age of five. At the age of nine he attended a sports school, where he achieved international class under professional conditions. In 1994 he finally won his first medal at his first major international championship. At the Asian Games in Hiroshima , he won silver from the 10-meter tower. Two years later, Xiao Hailiang took part in the Olympic Games from the 10-meter tower in Atlanta and won the bronze medal. Four years later he started again at the Olympic Games . In Sydney , however, this time he started from the 3-meter board and with Xiong Ni in the newly introduced 3-meter synchronized jumping. In the individual, he narrowly missed a medal in fourth, but won the gold medal in the dubbing competition. After the Games, Xiao Hailiang ended his playing career.
