Xu Shousheng

Xu Shousheng ( Chinese  徐守盛 ; * 1953 in Rudong , Jiangsu Province ) is a politician in the People's Republic of China .

Xu joined the Chinese Communist Party in 1973 and received his doctorate from their party school. He worked in various political and administrative functions in his home province. Most recently from 1992 to 1996 as mayor of Lianyungang and 1996 to 2001 as party secretary of Suqian .

In 2001 he moved to Gansu Province and became Vice Governor there in 2003. From 2008 to 2010 he was governor of the province. Liu Weiping was appointed as his successor .

In 2010, he succeeded Zhou Qiang , who became the provincial party secretary, governor of Hunan Province .

He was a delegate of the 15th Party Congress from 1997. Then Xu was a candidate from 2002 and has been a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China since 2007 .
