Xu Shuangshuang ( Chinese  許 雙雙 , Pinyin Xǔ Shuāngshuāng ; born April 6, 1996 ) is a Chinese athlete who has specialized in obstacle running and at the beginning of her career mainly started in middle-distance running.

Athletic career

Xu Shuangshuang gained her first international experience at the 2013 Youth World Championships in Donetsk , where she was eliminated in the first round over 1500 meters and tenth place in the 3000 meter run with 9: 44.83 minutes. In 2014 she was sixth over 800 meters at the Junior Asian Championships in Taipei and won the bronze medal in the 1500 meter run in 4: 28.78 minutes . In 2018 she took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time, where she finished fifth in 9: 47.42 minutes. The following year she won the silver medal behind Winfred Mutile Yavi from Bahrain at the Asian Championships in Doha in 9: 51.76 m . She also qualified for the World Championships there in October, where she was eliminated in the preliminary round with 9: 42.23 min .

In 2018, Xu became the Chinese obstacle course champion. She graduated from Jiaotong University Shanghai .
