Yılmaz Erdoğan
Yılmaz Erdoğan (born November 4, 1967 in Hakkâri ) is a Turkish actor of Kurdish origin.
Life
Artistic creation
Born in Hakkâri, Yılmaz Erdoğan grew up in Ankara . After school, he began studying civil engineering at İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi , which he dropped out to go to the theater. He played his first significant role under Ferhan Şensoy in Nöbetçi Tiyatrosu . He later wrote skits for the satirical show by Levent Kırca , Olacak O Kadar . He shot his first television series on the Turkish state broadcaster TRT .
The first play Gereği Düşünüldü was so successful that appearances in popular plays such as Haşlama Taşlama and Kadınlık Bizde Kalsın followed shortly thereafter . Erdoğan later founded the Beşiktaş Kültür Merkezi . There he wrote and played his best known and most successful theater series called Bir Demet Tiyatro . Other works are Otogargara and Cebimdeki Kelimeler .
Vizontele was his first film success as a director and actor. It depicts the conditions of a remote place in the province of Van in a humorous way. The film is set in the 1970s and addresses various topics in Turkey at that time: the living conditions of the village community and the introduction of television, which was associated with the downfall of Turkish cinema.
His film Krumme Dinger am Bosporus (Organize Işler), which was released in 2005 in Turkey and Europe, is about how organized criminals and petty criminals influence the lives of innocent citizens, in a positive as well as in a negative sense. In addition to plays and film manuscripts, Yılmaz Erdoğan also writes poetry.
Political commitment
In April 2013, Yılmaz Erdoğan was appointed by the then Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to a commission called the “Council of Wise Men” , which was supposed to support civil society in the peaceful end to the conflict with the Kurdish PKK , which was ultimately ineffective. In 2019 he opposed the cancellation of the mayoral elections in Istanbul and, like other celebrities and citizens of Istanbul, supported the opposition and winner of the canceled election Ekrem İmamoğlu .
Private
He has a daughter from his first marriage. He was married to actress Belcim Bilgin until 2018 and has one son. Yılmaz Erdoğan's older brother Mustafa Erdoğan is the artistic director of the Fire of Anatolia dance project and was married to the Turkish singer Gülben Ergen until 2011 .
