Yael Rubinstein (* in Israel ) is an Israeli diplomat .

Career

From 1976 to 1977 Rubinstein was an officer in the Israel Defense Forces and in 1978 a leader in the Israeli Society for Nature Conservation. She then worked as a lecturer at the Falk Institute for two years and as a teaching assistant at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem for four years . This was followed by a position as a parliamentary assistant in the Knesset from 1982 to 1973 .

In 1982 Rubinstein received a bachelor's degree in economics and international relations and in 1983 a master's degree in economics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Rubinstein has been working for the Israeli Foreign Ministry since November 1983 , initially in the personnel training department until May 1986. Until March 1989 she was the second secretary in London . In April she was promoted to first secretary. In August 1989 she went to the Economic Department of the Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem and stayed there until April 1990. From May 1990 to April 1991 Rubinstein worked in the office of the Senior Deputy Director General and from July 1991 to August 1995 in the North America department. This was followed by a position as a consultant in the Israeli delegation to the United Nations in New York . From September 1997 to August 1999 Rubinstein was in the Department of International Organizations, until August 2001 she was Director of Department 3 for Economic Affairs and until March 2003 Director of Department 2.

In April 2003 Rubinstein was Israel's Extraordinary Ambassador to Slovakia , Slovenia and Croatia in the Central Europe Department of the Israeli Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem. From September 2005 to September 2009 she was the Ambassador of Israel to Thailand and Cambodia in Bangkok . In August 2010 Rubinstein became a member of the National Security College and stayed until August 2011. During this time, she graduated here and received a Masters in Political Science from the University of Haifa . In November, she became a senior political advisor to the Armed Forces J5.

On January 13, 2013 Rubinstein was appointed Ambassador of Israel to Singapore , with additional responsibility for East Timor . Rubinstein presented her accreditation to Singapore's President Tony Tan Keng Yam on September 25th . Israel has no diplomatic relations with Singapore's neighbors, Indonesia and Malaysia .
