Yahouza Sadissou

Yahouza Sadissou (* 1966 in Gazaoua ) is a Nigerien journalist and politician.

Life

Yahouza Sadissou was born in the Gazaoua village of Madobi, where he attended elementary school. He then went to middle school in Aguié , which he graduated in 1984, and attended the Ecole Normale Askia Mohamed in Zinder , where he passed the high school diploma in 1987. Sadissou then studied history at Niamey University . He completed his studies with a maîtrise in history and worked first in Niamey , then in Maradi as a middle school teacher for history and geography.

At the same time, he began to work as a journalist. He was one of the first employees of the private broadcaster Radio Anfani , founded in 1994 , which was subjected to state repression under the regime of Ibrahim Baré Maïnassara . Sadissou was promoted to director of the Maradi regional studio at Radio Anfani, which he directed for four years. He then worked in Maradi as a correspondent for Voice of America and Radio Iran . From August 2003 to January 2004 he did a journalistic training at Deutsche Welle in Bonn . In 2004 he was one of the founding members of the social democratic party RSD-Gaskiya . In January 2005 Sadissou received a five-year contract as a correspondent for Deutsche Welle in Bonn. He worked for the station's Hausa program. In Maradi he founded the media company Agence Privée de Communication Garkuwa , whose radio broadcaster Radio Privée Garkuwa started operations in October 2008. In the RSD-Gaskiya he was initially information secretary of the Maradi section and the workers' union. In July 2008 he became chairman of the party section in the Aguié department and stood there in the 2009 parliamentary elections for the RSD-Gaskiya.

President Mahamadou Issoufou ( PNDS-Tarayya ) appointed Yahouza Sadissou as Minister for Communication and Institutional Relations in a government reshuffle in August 2013. Sadissou took over the communication department from Salifou Labo Bouché , the department relations with the institutions from Laouali Chaibou . He announced that he wanted to reform the state broadcaster ORTN . In the government of April 11, 2016, Sadissou became Minister of Post, Telecommunications and E-Business. He became Minister for Employment, Labor and Social Security on October 18, 2016 and Minister for Universities, Research and Innovation on April 18, 2017.
