Yamil Rodrigo Asad (* 27 July 1994 in San Antonio de Padua ) is an Argentine - Lebanese football player , since January 2020 the MLS - Franchise D.C. United is under contract.
Career
The son of longtime Vélez Sársfield player Omar Asad also began his career with the Argentine Primera División club. For him he made his debut on April 14, 2013 in the 1: 2 defeat by CA Colón , where he came on in the 75th minute for Brian Ferreira . He scored his first goal of his professional career against Crucero del Norte on February 22, 2015.
On January 11, 2017, the MLS club Atlanta United loaned the midfielder for a year. After a good season, Atlanta wanted to sign Asad, but could not agree on a transfer with Vélez and he returned to Argentina at the end of 2017.
On February 13, 2018, Yamil Asad moved again to the United States on loan . This time the league competitor Atlantas DC United secured the services of Asad for one season with the option of a permanent commitment. Despite 30 appearances in which he was able to score nine goals and assist five more, the capital club did not pull the purchase option and Asad returned again to Vélez Sarsfield. There, his contract was terminated in July 2019.
On September 17, 2019, Asad's return to DC United was announced. His new working paper came into force on January 1, 2020.
