Russell Scott Canouse (born June 11, 1995 in Lancaster , Pennsylvania ) is an American football player . The central midfielder has been under contract with DC United in Major League Soccer since August 2017 .

Career

societies

Canouse first played for PA Classics and moved from the New York Red Bulls to the youth department of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on January 1, 2011 . For the 2014/15 season he moved up to his second team , which plays in the Regionalliga Südwest . On September 18, 2015, he scored his first league goal in a 3-1 away defeat against 1. FC Saarbrücken . On March 12, 2016 he was in the first team's squad for the Bundesliga game against VfL Wolfsburg and was substituted on for Fabian Schär in the 67th minute in the 1-0 win .

For the 2016/17 season Canouse was awarded for two years to the second division club VfL Bochum . On December 10, 2016, he scored his first second division goal with the 1-0 final score in the home game against TSV 1860 Munich .

The lending business was terminated prematurely in August 2017. But Canouse not return to Hoffenheim, but to his homeland and joined the MLS - Franchise D.C. United from Washington, DC .

National team

Canouse completed twelve games for the U20 selection of the United States Soccer Federation and scored one goal.
