Yann , whose real name is Yann le Pennetier (born May 25, 1954 in Marseille ) is a French comic book author. In addition to the pseudonym Yann , he also signed with Balac and as a collective Pearce .

Life

Beginnings in Spirou magazine (1975–1982)

After studying architecture and communication, Yann began to devote himself to comics. At first he was a draftsman, but then he preferred to write the scenarios. In 1978 Yann Didier met Conrad and together they started publishing their comics in the Belgian magazine Spirou . Between 1980 and 1982 two volumes of her series Heroes Without Scruples (Les Innommables) were published.

Although Yann and Conrad did a good job, they left the magazine in 1982 after the editorial team decided.

New beginning in the magazine Circus (1983-1989)

Yann and Conrad started all over again in Circus magazine . Her first story to appear in Circus was Bob Marone . Other publications were, for example, La Patrouille des libellules et Lolo et Sucette with Marc Hardy (1984 and 1988), Yoyo with Frank Le Gall (1985-1987) and Sambre with Yslaire (1985-1989). Yann wrote the scenarios for the last three volumes of The Adventures of Freddy Lombard by Yves Chaland . With Nuit blanche (with drawings by Olivier Neuray ), Yann's first realistic and classic story appeared in 1989.

The work after circus

Although stories appeared in Bodoï between 1998 and 2015 , Yann has since been more concerned with stories in album form. Yann's work is very diverse. He even published the Marsupilami with Batem , Lucky Luke with Morris and Kid Lucky with Conrad. In 2007 Yann returned to the Spirou magazine of the Dupuis publishing house, where he collaborated with Fabrice Tarrin in the one-shots Spirou and Fantasio - Die Gruft der von Rummelsdorf (2006) and with Olivier Schwartz Operation Fledermaus (2009) and The Leopard Woman (2014) the sequel The Master of the Black Hosts (2016) published.
