Yariv Gideon Levin ( Hebrew יריב גדעון לוין, Born June 22, 1969 in Jerusalem ) is an Israeli lawyer and politician of the Likud party .

Life

Levin studied law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Jerusalem and works as a lawyer in Israel. He has been a Likud MP in the Knesset since 2009 . Together with other members of parliament, he presented a 16-point draft law that formed the basis for the nation-state law passed in 2018 . Levin was Minister of Public Security in 2015, Minister of Tourism from 2015 to 2020 and Executive Minister of Immigration from 2018 to 2019. Since May 17, 2020 he has been the spokesman for the Knesset, replacing Benny Gantz .

Levin is married with three children and lives with his family in Modi'in . He is fluent in Arabic .
