Yatego is an online marketplace where merchants can sell products via a central platform. Each retailer has its own sales area that is integrated into the Yatego platform. This enables customers to shop online at all retailers represented there with a central registration at Yatego.

Yatego GmbH was founded in March 2003 by Michael Ollmann and Stephan Peltzer, the website went online in June 2003. Mr. Ollmann left the company in November 2012.

Acton Capital Beteiligungsgesellschaft has been the majority shareholder of Yatego since January 1, 2011.

When the sales platform opened, Yatego had around 100 dealers.

Yatego was one of the winners of the Jobmotor 2008 because the company had a strong increase in employees despite the economic crisis. Companies that have been nominated for the job engine are divided into three categories: A distinction was made between small (up to 20 employees), medium-sized (20 to 200 employees) and larger (more than 200 employees) companies. Mediator role

Yatego acts as an intermediary for an order. Buyers have the option of choosing between a quick order and a customer account ("MyYatego").

Yatego has partnerships with the iClear trust service and the EHI Retail Institute . It is also possible to export item data to various price comparison portals , such as Google Product Search , Kelkoo and Milando.

In addition to the menu-guided creation of new items and manual import in the shop administration , the transfer to Yatego is supported by various shop systems, some of them by other providers. These include common systems such as Xt: Commerce , OsCommerce , OXID eSales, plentymarkets , Afterbuy (via PX Webdesign) and JTL inventory management.

For the automatic comparison of orders, Yatego has interfaces to providers such as Afterbuy , AuktionMaster, OXID eSales, plentyMarkets and DreamRobot. There is also an order connection certified by Yatego to the Actindo online inventory control system. The order data can also be called up in CSV format or sent by POST for further processing.

Yatego uses a cooperation with the legal text service provider Protected Shops. Yatego dealers can automatically obtain the legal texts for their Yatego shop.

A cooperation agreement exists between the shipping service provider DHL and Yatego. This enables Yatego retailers to ship items at special rates. The shipping labels can be created directly from the administration area.

The correct assignment of articles to categories is largely automatic with Yatego. A follow-up check is carried out manually. To be admitted to Yatego, retailers need a trade license . A quality check is mandatory for inquiries from larger shops.

For retail: Yatego maintains connections to public institutions such as business development and the IHK . In September 2009, Baden-Württemberg's Economics Minister Ernst Pfister and Yatego discussed the common goal of strengthening stationary retail.

Against warnings: As a reaction to the wave of warnings in online trading, Yatego set up an arbitration board for fair online trading between Yatego dealers in May 2007. Buyers can also turn to this arbitration board if they have any problems.
