Yeferson Julio Soteldo Martínez (born June 30, 1997 in Acarigua ) is a Venezuelan football player . The variable offensive player has been under contract with the Brazilian first division club FC Santos since January 2019 . He has been a national player since February 2016 .

Yeferson Soteldo started his career in his home country in the youth of Caracas FC before moving to Zamora FC . He made his debut for Zamora at the age of 16 and, despite his young age, became an important player for the club.

In December 2017, his move to the Chilean club CD Huachipato was announced. The first division paid a transfer fee of 1.5 million euros for the attacking midfielder .

In January 2018, Soteldo switched to league rivals CF Universidad de Chile on loan . The club from the capital Santiago de Chile also secured an option for a permanent purchase of Soteldo. In the 2018 season he made 26 appearances in which he scored five goals.

After the loan ended, he moved to the Brazilian first division club FC Santos in January 2019 , where he signed a contract until the end of the 2022 season. At his new club he immediately established himself as a regular player. On May 12th (4th matchday) he scored his first goal in a 3-0 home win against CR Vasco da Gama . On August 4, he scored twice in the 6-1 home win against Goiás EC and assisted a goal. With nine goals and six assists, Soteldo contributed significantly to Santos' good performance in the 2019 season .

At the U-20 South American Championship 2017 , Soteldo finished third with the U-20 national team of Venezuela .

Yeferson Soteldo made his debut for the Venezuelan senior team on February 3, 2016 in a friendly against Costa Rica .
