Ylva Hjördis Nowén (born January 5, 1970 in Östersund , Sweden ) is a former Swedish ski racer . For many years she was one of the most successful ski racers in the slalom and giant slalom disciplines .
biography
Ylva Nowén is more of a late starter, as she celebrated her first podium finish in the World Cup at the age of 26 with second place in the parallel race in Tignes in October 1997. Remarkable: She celebrated all four World Cup victories in the 1997/98 season , all in Episode.
At the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City , she finished 4th in slalom (just behind Anja Pärson ) and 7th in giant slalom. The victory in the Slalom World Cup in 1998 was her greatest success. Just over three months after the 2001/02 season, she resigned from the World Cup due to pregnancy.
