Yolanda Toussieng

Yolanda Toussieng (* 1949 ) is an American makeup artist who has won two Oscar for best make-up .

biography

Yolanda Toussieng began working as a make-up artist in 1982 for the television series of the same name, based on the film Schütze Benjamin (1980), and has so far been involved in over 50 film and television productions.

In 1986 she received her first nomination with hairstylist Shirley Crawford, namely for an Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in Hairstyling in the first episode of the second season of the television series Torches in the Storm (1986) produced by the American Broadcasting Company (ABC ). In 1989 she and Jerry Masone won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Hairstyling for the episode "To Tell The Tooth" of the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) -produced series Pee-wee's Playhouse (1986).

For the make-up in Mrs. Doubtfire - The Prickly Nanny (1993) she won her first Oscar for best make-up with Greg Cannom and Ve Neill in 1994 and also received a nomination for the British Academy Film Award (BAFTA Award) for the best mask in 1995. In addition to a second Oscar at the 1995 Academy Awards for the best make-up in Ed Wood (1994), which she received together with Rick Baker and Ve Neill, she received a nomination for them in 1996 for the BAFTA Award for the best mask.

In 1996 she was also nominated for the Saturn Award for best make-up , again with Rick Baker and Ve Neil for Batman Forever (1995). For the make-up in Master & Commander - Until the End of the World (2003), she was nominated for another Oscar at the 2004 Academy Awards together with Edouard F. Henriques and received another nomination for this film with Kim Santantonio and Barbara Lorenz the Hollywood Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist Guild for the best hairstyling.

At the 2011 Academy Awards she was finally nominated again for an Oscar: this time with Edouard F. Henriques and Greg Funk for the make-up in The Way Back (2010).

Other well-known films she worked on as a makeup artist include Edward Scissorhands (1990), The Rock (1996), Armageddon - The Judgment Day (1998) and Pearl Harbor (2001).
