Edouard F. Henriques (born before 1977) is a makeup artist and special effects artist .

Life

Henriques began his career on the film staff in 1977 in Peter Yate's adventure film The Depth with Nick Nolte in the lead role. That was the beginning of a longstanding collaboration, between 1977 and 2013 Henriques was responsible for the makeup of Nolte on 17 feature films, including Just 48 Hours , Zoff in Beverly Hills and Cape Fear .

In 2001 Henriques was nominated for Tarsem Singh's horror film The Cell together with Michèle Burke for the Oscar in the category Best Make-up and Best Hairstyles , but that year the Christmas film The Grinch won . In 2004 he received a second Oscar nomination for Peter Weir's adventure film Master & Commander - To the End of the World , together with Yolanda Toussieng he was subject to Peter Jackson's fantasy film The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King . In 2009 he was nominated for the BAFTA Film Award in the Best Mask category for Ron Howard's drama Frost / Nixon , and here too he went empty-handed. A third nomination for an Oscar came in 2011 for The Way Back - The Long Way by Peter Weir. Henriques, Greg Funk and Yolanda Toussieng got the short straws against the horror film Wolfman . In addition to Peter Weir and Ron Howard, Henriques worked under other renowned directors such as Steven Spielberg , Joel and Ethan Coen , Clint Eastwood and Michael Bay .

Occasionally, in addition to his film engagements, Henriques also worked for television, including the series Alien Nation and New York Cops - NYPD Blue . For his work on the television films based on the series Alien Nation , he was nominated twice for a Primetime Emmy , which he could not win.
