Younes Namli (born June 20, 1994 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish football player with Moroccan roots. He played at Akademisk Boldklub ( AB Gladsaxe ) since his youth and was part of the first team from 2013. From 2015 he played in the Netherlands, first with SC Heerenveen and from 2017 with PEC Zwolle . Since 2020 he has played on loan for the Colorado Rapids in the MLS.

Career

Akademisk Boldklub / AB Gladsaxe

Younes Namli started playing football at Skovlunde IF in the Skovlunde municipality near Copenhagen; later he moved to the youth academy at Brøndby IF . Due to injury, he went back to Skovlunde IF after a year and then to the youth teams of the Akademisk Boldklub . On May 20, 2012 he made his senior debut when he was substituted on for Kristoffer Heeris in the 1-1 draw on the 22nd matchday of the second division in the away game at Skive IK in the 66th minute . In the 2011/12 season he came to two missions. From the 2013/14 season he was part of the first team. On April 12, 2014, Namli scored his first goal in the senior division; in the 2-1 win on the 22nd matchday at Hobro IK , he hit with a long-range shot to lead the team 1-0. This season he came to 30 appearances and two goals; AB Gladsaxe, as the club was now called, finished tenth in the Danish second division at the end of the season. In the first half of the following season Namli played 17 times in the second division and scored four goals. He also came to a use in the Danish cup competition.

SC Heerenveen

In December 2014, Namli completed a trial training session with the Dutch first division club SC Heerenveen and signed a contract running until 2017 around a year later. He made his debut in the second team in a 1-0 victory in the "Beloften Eredivisie" against the second substitute for Willem II Tilburg . On January 24, 2015, Namli made his debut in the Eredivisie; in the 4-1 win on matchday 19 against Vitesse Arnheim , he was substituted on for Luciano Slagveer in the 87th minute . For the reserve team he played nine games in the first half of the 2014/15 season and eleven times for the professionals in the Eredivisie. He was also used once in the KNVB Beker . As seventh in the table, SC Heerenveen qualified for the play-offs to qualify for the Europa League and lost in the final against Vitesse Arnheim. In the following season , Namli only came to three missions due to injury. On February 22, 2016, he scored his first goal for the reserves of SC Heerenveen in the Beloften Eredivisie in the away game against the reserve team from Heracles Almelo . For the reserve team Namli came in the 2015/16 season to four appearances in the Beloften Eredivisie and to one use in the "Beloften Decision Round". His contract ran until the end of the 2016/17 season.

PEC Zwolle

For the 2017/18 season, Namli moved to PEC Zwolle and signed a three-year contract. On August 13, 2017 he made his debut in a 4-2 win on matchday one against Roda JC Kerkrade and scored his first goal for the final score on October 28, 2017 in a 2-0 win against ADO Den Haag PEC Zwolle.

National team

On March 27, 2015, Namli played his only game for the Danish U-21 national team in the 2-0 defeat in the friendly against Turkey in Istanbul .
