Yousef Sweid

Yousef "Joe" Sweid ( Arabic يوسف سويد, Hebrew יוסף סוויד; * June 22, 1976 in Haifa ) is an Israeli actor and dancer .

life and career

Yousef Sweid was born to Arab Christians in the Israeli city of Haifa. After finishing school, he attended Tel Aviv University and, after graduating, first appeared in the Arabic-Hebrew Theater in Jaffa . Since 2004 he can also be seen in film and television. He played his first role as Rafik in walking across the water .

Sweid took on recurring roles in the series Ha-Alufa and Hatufim - In the hand of the enemy . He also played in series such as Homeland , American Odyssey and Game of Thrones . His film appearances include a. Agora - The Pillars of Heaven and The Bubble - One Love in Tel Aviv . Sweid was married to the theater director Yael Ronen until 2015 . In 2009 they became parents of a son. He lives in Berlin . He moved with her to Berlin in 2013, because his wife had an engagement at the theater there. Sweid played under her direction at the Schaubühne Theater, among others . He has been married to the Israeli presenter Adi Shilon since 2018 . In 2019 she gave birth to Sweid's second child.
