Tel Aviv on Fire (Original: Hebrew תל אביב על האש, Tel Aviv al ha'esh ) is a 2018 Israeli comedy film directed by Sameh Zoabi .

Salam, a Palestinian from East Jerusalem , is a production assistant on the set of Tel Aviv on Fire , a soap opera produced in Ramallah . On the way to work, Salam has to pass a checkpoint every day, which is commanded by Assi. After telling a lie to Assi, he is promoted to screenwriter. However, Salam is not a writer and cannot write scripts on his own. In order not to be released, Salam enters into a secret agreement with Assi. Assi Salam helps with writing for good Palestinian hummus . Salam also promises to end the series with a wedding. The Palestinian producers want a different ending, however, and Salem finds itself in a difficult position.

The film premiered at the 75th Venice International Film Festival and was released in German cinemas on July 4, 2019.
