Yucca confinis (English common name : "Yucca of the boundary") is a species of palm lily ( Yucca ) in the asparagus family (Asparagaceae).
description
The solitary Yucca confinis forms a short trunk. The irregularly arranged, smooth, stiff blue to green leaves are 0.5 to 0.8 meters long and form fibers on the leaf edges.
The upright or branched, branched inflorescence that begins between the leaves is 1 to 1.3 meters high and protrudes above the leaves. The pendulous, spherical, hermaphrodite flowers are about 6 to 12 cm long and 2 to 3 cm in diameter. The elongated, white, cream-colored bracts are 5.5 to 9 cm long. The flowering period extends from March to April. The cylindrical fruits up to 20 cm long are characteristic.
Yucca confinis is related to Yucca arizonica . In contrast to her, however, she is larger in all dimensions. Some authors see a hybrid of this type. Yucca confinis is a representative of the Yucca section , Baccatae series .
When dry, it is frost hardy to minus 10 ° C.
