Yvon Mougel (born May 25, 1955 in Cornimont ) is a former French biathlete .

Yvon Mougel contested his first race at an international championship as part of the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck , where he finished seventh in the relay race alongside René Arpin , Marius Falquy and Jean-Claude Viry . The biathlon world championships up to the Olympic Winter Games in Lake Placid in 1980 brought mixed results. At the games he was sixth in the individual, 33rd of the sprint and fifth with Denis Sandona , André Geourjon and Christian Poirot as the starting runner of the season. Mougel celebrated his greatest success at the Biathlon World Championships in Lahti in 1981 , where he won the bronze medal in the sprint behind Frank Ullrich and Erkki Antila . The Frenchman achieved good results again at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo . As fourth in the individual, he missed a medal by just one place against Eirik Kvalfoss , and in the sprint he only missed the podium by a few places in sixth. In the relay race he was ninth with his brother Francis Mougel , Éric Claudon and Christian Poirot.
