Jean-Claude Louis Viry (born August 15, 1943 in La Bresse , † April 20, 2011 in Gérardmer ) was a French biathlete . Between 1966 and 1976 he was a member of the French national biathlon squad.

Jean-Claude Viry made his debut at an international championship at the 1966 Biathlon World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , where he was 35th of the individual. In 1967 he was 36th in Altenberg , 35th of the individual at the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble . In addition, he was tenth with Daniel Claudon , Serge Legrand and Aimé Gruet-Masson as the final runner of the season. This was followed by the biathlon world championships in Zakopane in 1969 , where Viry was 28th of the individual, in 1971 in Hämeenlinna 41st and in 1973 in Lake Placid 30th. Viry achieved his best result in 1974 in Minsk when he was tenth in the individual and in the sprint race that was held for the first time took 35th place. In 1975 in Antholz he was 45th of the individual, 60th of the sprint and 11th in relay with René Arpin , Marius Falquy and Aimé Gruet-Masson. In 1976 he started again at the Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck . In the singles Viry ran to 33rd place, in the relay race he was seventh alongside René Arpin, Yvon Mougel and Marius Falquy. He then took part in the World Championships in Antholz, where he was 27th in the not yet Olympic sprint.
