Yvonne Bürgin (born August 27, 1970 in Rüti ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ).

biography

Bürgin visited in Rüti the primary school and the secondary school . After an apprenticeship as a tailor with a vocational secondary school and subsequent further training at the STF Swiss Textile School in Zurich , she worked as a textile designer for curtains and decorative fabrics. First she worked in the Weisbrod-Zürrer silk weaving mill , and later in the Keller AG weaving mill in Wald ZH .

Bürgin has been a member of the CVP since 1998 . In her local section she was vice president and later co-president. From 2006 to 2014 Bürgin worked in the school care department of the secondary school in Rüti, where, among other things, she looked after pupils with special needs. Bürgin was elected to the Zurich Cantonal Council in 2013 and has been a member of the management team since 2016. On May 7, 2018, she was elected President of the Cantonal Council for the 2018/19 year of office.

Bürgin has three children and, in addition to her political mandate, works in her husband's natural stone business and is responsible for administration and accounting .
