The Journal of Social Sciences (ZfSÖ) is a German magazine for economic and social policy , land tenure, monetary and currency policy . It has been published since 1964 and was called the Zeitschrift für Sozialökonomie until 1979 . People - Technology - Society / mtg . The editorial team at that time consisted of Heinz-Peter Neumann , Claas-Hermann Janssen alias Elimar Rosenbohm, Bernd Hasecke and Kurt Th. Richter . Until 1979 the magazine was published by Bernd Hasecke , Velbert ; The publisher was the Academy for Free and Social Order - Institute of the Social Science Society from 1950 e. V. Since 1980 the magazine has been published by Gauke GmbH - Verlag für Sozialökonomie , which today in Kiel (formerly: Lütjenburg ) bears the name Rettberg-Gauke Verlags- und Medienservice. After the 200th episode in June 2019, the print edition was discontinued and the magazine now appears exclusively on the Internet.
Contributions
In addition to articles on a sustainable economic order , the magazine also contains critical articles on the financial and monetary system. A number of articles were published that described the financial crisis from 2007 and explained its causes. The magazine first appeared in December 1964 and the editors at that time were Heinz-Peter Neumann, Claas-Hermann Janssen alias Elimar Rosenbohm, Bernd Hasecke and Kurt Th. Richter.

Viewpoints
The authors, who are connected to one another through a constructive-critical proximity to Silvio Gesell's free economics theory , take a critical look at the neoclassical standard economy. In contrast to the neoclassical axiom , according to which money is neutral, they see precisely the non-neutrality of money as the main cause of the unjust distribution of income and wealth as well as the susceptibility of capitalist market economies to crisis. The journal has set itself the task of scientifically justifying the alternative economic idea of neutralizing money and thus contributing to the development of the foundations of a not only free and efficient, but also just and peaceful economy. The magazine sees itself as an open forum for the search for the regulatory foundations of a " market economy without capitalism " in which the economy stabilizes, unearned income by overcoming the shortage of capital and thus of interest eliminated and the competition of mono- and oligopolistic Vermachtungen is freed .
