Zentrum is a district of the university town of Tübingen . The district includes the historic old town and the area south of the Neckar to the railway line. In the vernacular, one also speaks of the city ​​center , but this does not necessarily correspond exactly with this district.

It is demarcated from the Weststadt to the west by the B 28 and to the north by the Ammer . The north border with the university district is also formed by the Ammer. The eastern boundary to the Österberg district is Mühlstrasse and the Steinlach estuary to the Au / Unterer Wert district. The Plochingen – Tübingen railway line forms the southern boundary to the southern part of the city .

As a landmark visible from afar , the collegiate church from 1470 near the market square represents the center of Tübingen.

The Hölderlin Tower and the Uhlandbad swimming pool near the Neckar Bridge are significant structures on the northern bank of the Neckar .
