Zhao Xuri ( Chinese  赵旭日 , Pinyin Zhào Xùrì ; born December 3, 1985 in Dalian ) is a Chinese football player . The defensive midfielder has played for the Chinese national team since 2003 and has already played over 80 international matches.

Career

Zhao began his career with the then second division team Dalian Saidelong, where he did not play a competitive game. In 2003 he was signed by Sichuan Guancheng, where he was able to make a name for himself with his performances right away. In the 2003 season he played 27 games and scored two goals, while the following season was marked by injuries and he came to significantly fewer missions. Before the start of the 2005 season, he signed with Dalian Shide and finally established himself as a regular.

In 2010 he moved to Shaanxi Renhe and played another 50 league games before he was bought on December 26, 2011 by the Chinese record champions Guangzhou Evergrande . Zhao had his best time with the Cantonese, as he celebrated the championship title four times in a row. In 2016 he moved to Tianjin Quanjian in the second division, with which he was promoted in the 2016 season. He has been playing for Dalian Yifang since 2019 .

National team

In 2008 Zhao played twice for the Chinese U-23s , in 2003 he was called up for the first time for the A-selection and was part of the squad during the 2003 East Asian Cup , where he made his debut on December 7th in a 1-0 defeat by South Korea gave. He scored his first goal against in the same tournament against Hong Kong , which China won 3-1. Zhao is considered seeded in the Chinese midfield and has now played over 80 international matches.
