Zinder I is one of the five arrondissements of the city of Zinder in Niger .

Zinder I is located in the center of the city and includes the historic city center of Birni . It borders in the northwest on the Arrondissement Zinder IV , in the northeast on the Arrondissement Zinder II and in the south on the Arrondissement Zinder V . The neighboring rural communities are Gaffati in the east, Kolléram in the southeast and Droum in the southwest. By Zinder I of 9 passes longitude .

The arrondissement is divided into several districts as well as rural villages and hamlets . The neighborhoods are Camp de Garde, Chétimari, Dadin Sarki, Dan Yaro Sultan, Etat Major, Franco, Galadima, Garin Makahi (Sultanate), Jambourou, Kachéni, Kouran Daga, Manzozo, Marka, Rouga Sarkin Foulani, Sabon Gari, Sultanate, Tilacoco and Yada Kondagué.

The administrative unit Zinder I was founded as a municipality ( commune urbaine ) in 2002 when the city of Zinder was transformed into a community of five municipalities ( communauté urbaine ). In 2010 the five arrondissements emerged from the municipalities of Zinders.

At the 2012 census, Zinder I had 84,610 inhabitants who lived in 12,709 households. At the 2001 census, the population was 73,210 in 12,665 households.
