Zllakuqan ( Albanian  also  Zllakuqani , Serbian Злокућане Zlokućane ) is a place in Kosovo that belongs to the municipality of Klina .

geography

Zllakuqan is located on the Gjyrakovc – Klina road, about four kilometers northwest of the town of Klina . The White Drin flows through the village .

Zllakuqan is almost exclusively inhabited by Catholic Albanians. The 2011 census recorded 660 inhabitants, of which 658 (99.70%) described themselves as Albanians ; no data is available for two people. 657 people (99.55%) declared themselves Catholics and one person as Muslim .

Infrastructure

The primary school in the village is named after Shtjefën Gjeçovi .

A Catholic church consecrated to John the Baptist (alb. Kisha e Shën Gjon Pagëzuesit ) is located on the main road through the town. Zllakuqan is also called "Little Rome of Kosovo" because of the high proportion of Catholics. Many well-known authors and pastors have their beginnings in Zllakuqan, including the Albanian author Bardhec Don Ben Zymi .

In Zllakuqan there is the so-called Pishina-Europark, a large swimming and amusement park. This swimming pool, built in 2006, a replica of the Uzwil swimming pool , is mainly visited by people from Zllakuqan and Klina.
