Zoie Palmer (* in Camborne , Cornwall , England ) is a British - Canadian actress .

Life

Zoie Palmer was born in Camborne to Irish-British parents. She moved with her family to Canada as a child and attended Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Newmarket , Ontario . She studied at York University in Toronto until 2001 . She was best known in 2003 for her roles in The Reagans (2003) and Out of the Ashes (2003). This was followed by numerous roles, such as leading roles in the series The Guard (2008-2009), Lost Girl (2010-2015) and Dark Matter (2015-2017).

Awards

Palmer was nominated in 2011 by ACTRA for " Outstanding Performance - Female" in The Untitled Work . For her acting performances in Terminal Venus she was named "Best Actor" at the Baja Film Festival in Mexico in 2004 and in 2012 for her performances in Cold Blooded with the " Gold Medallion Acting Award for Best Actress in a Feature Film " at the US American BareBones International Film Festival awards. She received the Fan Choice Award for Favorite Canadian Screen Star at the Canadian Screen Awards .
