action

Jonathan White and his daughter Rita own the Pioneer Telegraph Company . As more and more settlers move west, father and daughter push ahead with the construction of a new telegraph line from St. Jo to the Twin Bluffs border post. To do this, they have put together an experienced team, led by surveyor Ken Mason. But there is one who wants to sabotage the company's work by any means: George Crane, owner of the Twin Bluffs blacksmithing shop and uncrowned king of the place. A number of shady characters serve as his henchmen. One of them is Hank Kilgore. This incites an Indian tribe to attack the telegraph workers. The people of the telegraph company win in the fight, but they cannot prevent their boss from being killed in the process. But Rita doesn't give up so easily; she can continue to work diligently.

Crane orders Kilgore and his henchmen to raid the Company's warehouse and destroy all supplies. Meanwhile, Ken Mason meets secretly with the Indian Moccasin, a friend from his youth. Ken heard from him for the first time that his grandfather was the legendary Zorro. He should pretend to be his ghost and make the bandits harmless in Zorro's mask. The plan succeeds: Zorro's ghost always appears where the greatest danger threatens. In a battle he kills Kilgore and takes Crane prisoner after he was able to determine this as the originator of the raids. Now the telegraph line can continue to be built without interference.

Peace has returned to Twin Bluffs. Many, however, are concerned with the question of where the unrecognized Zorro may have disappeared to. Moccasin is the only one who knows the secret.
