Holy Cross Church

The Church of the Holy Cross is a Roman Catholic parish church in the Allmannsweiler community in the Biberach district in Upper Swabia . She bears the patronage of the Holy Cross . The church parish belongs to the deanery Biberach and there to pastoral care unit 11a Bad Schussenried .

Allmannsweiler is located in a hilly moraine area on the edge of the Federsee basin in the valley of the Bierstetter Bach , near the Bussen elevation . Originally owned by the Buchau women's monastery , Allmannsweiler was sold in 1392 to the later Reichsabbey of Schussenried .

The church was built in 1392. It has a Gothic tower from 1516–1517. In 1737 it was rebuilt in the Baroque style and expanded in the years 1825–1826. The sacristy was added to the church in 1877. The geostete church is located north of the village center at the Buchauer road towards the living space Ottobeurer yard. It is completely surrounded by a wall, inside which the cemetery, the memorial for the fallen sons of the place and the victims of the two world wars and a memorial plaque for those who died in the Russian campaign in 1812 are located.

In 1969 the interior was completely renovated according to the structural plans of the Second Vatican Council .

High altar

A way of the cross consisting of oil paintings is on the walls of the nave . The ceiling fresco and the high altar painting from the second half of the 17th century tell stories from the history of the Holy Cross . In the nave there is a baptismal font from around 1600 on the east side. A crucifixion group with Mary and John comes from the second half of the 17th century. A radiation monstrance from the mid-1740s should be highlighted from the inventory of liturgical implements .

The organ from comes from Alois Späth's workshop in 1870.
