Zwackau is part of the municipality of Rosendorf in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .

Zwackau is on state road 2364, which leads from Lippersdorf-Erdmannsdorf to federal road 281 west of federal highway 9 near Triptis . From the village to Triptis are about 9 km away. The place is on a plateau of the Saale-Elster-Buntsandsteinplatte surrounded by fields, meadows and then by forest.
