The Catholic branch church St. Rochus and Sebastian in Insul , a local parish in the Ahrweiler district ( Rhineland-Palatinate ), was built in 1882. The church at Hauptstrasse 22 is a protected cultural monument .

description

The St. Rochus and St. The church consecrated to Sebastian is a plastered quarry stone building with two axes . On the gable roof , a rectangular sitting roof turret with the hood . The arched windows still have the original lead glass windows .

Furnishing

In 1971 the church received a new altar and a new sacrament house made of tuff , which were created by the sculptor Georg Gehring from Adenau . The Way of the Cross was also designed by the artist.

window

The lead glass windows , created by H. Maier stained glass in Bad Neuenahr , represent St. Elisabeth , the Madonna and Child, St. Joseph and St. Rochus. Above the portal there is a semicircular window that also depicts St. Rochus, now with walking stick and dog, shows. It was created in 1991 by the glass painting company Oidtmann after a cardboard box by Georg Gehring.

organ

The organ was installed by the Klais organ builder at the end of the 19th century . It was restored in 1997.
