The hermaphrodites ( Asterophora , syn. Nyctalis ) are a genus of mushrooms from the Rasling family .
The type species is the dusting hermaphrodite ( Asterophora lycoperdoides ).
features
The hermaphrodites are small, whitish, gregarious agarics , with thick, short lamellas that can also be reduced. They do not form cystids , the 4-spore basidia are cylindrical-bulbous and have basal buckles . Buckles also appear on the transverse walls of the hyphae . Spores are seldom found, but numerous chlamydospores , often connected to chains, appear on the lamellae and the surface of the hat . They are either spherical to elliptical and strongly warty-star-shaped or spindle-shaped, smooth and provided with large drops.
ecology
The hermaphrodites are parasites that grow on the rotting fruiting bodies of deafblings , especially blackened deafblings.
species
The species includes 3 species worldwide, of which 2 occur in Europe.
