Zwuschwitz is a village in the municipality of Klipphausen in the district of Meißen , Saxony . It belongs to the district of Miltitz .

geography

Zwuschwitz is located in the Meißner highlands between Nossen and Meißen in the northwest of the Miltitz district. The village has grown together structurally with Miltitz, the center of which is only 300 meters to the southeast. Together with Miltitz, Zwuschwitz forms a district of the municipality of Klipphausen under his name. The plaza-like peasant hamlet is located on the plateau west of the Triebisch . The old village center with its five four-sided courtyards is along the “Bauernhöhe” road. The next place in a north-westerly direction is Krögis , municipality Käbschützal , with which Zwuschwitz is connected by Krögiser Straße. The Lugaer Weg leads to Luga, which is neighboring to the north .

history

Like Miltitz, Zwuschwitz is a village with a name derived from Old Sorbian , which is derived from the locator name “Svoš”. It was first mentioned in 1334 as "Zcwoswicz" or "Zwoswicz". In 1466 it was called "Swuschewicz", then in 1539 "Zschuschwitz". The current spelling appeared among others in 1551 and 1791. Since the Reformation, Zwuschwitz had been parish in Miltitz. The lords of the manor there , initially members of the Miltitz family , also exercised the manorial rule in Zwuschwitz. In 1551, the population consisted of eight possessed men and ten residents . Since then, no separate population figures have been officially recorded (see Miltitz), as the village grew together with Miltitz in the 16th century. When Miltitz gained its independence as a rural community on the basis of the rural community order of 1838 , Zwuschwitz was consequently its district from the beginning. When Miltitz merged with Burkhardswalde-Munzig and Garsebach on March 1, 1994, Zwuschwitz became part of the new Triebischtal community. This rose on July 1, 2012 in the municipality of Klipphausen.
