On March 13, 2020, the Republic of Kosovo decided on an entry ban for travelers from Germany, Italy , France and Switzerland until further notice . All flight connections have been canceled. Kosovo's Interior Minister Agim Veliu ( LDK ) was released on March 18 because he had supported the state of emergency to combat the coronavirus pandemic, which the Security Council of Kosovo, chaired by the President of Kosovo , Hashim Thaci would have given more power . On the night of March 25, the government under Albin Kurti was overthrown by a vote of no confidence.

The decision of the Kosovar government to severely restrict the freedom of movement of people and vehicles for the following days came into force on March 23. The decision is to restrict movement, with the exception of emergencies between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Since this time limit has resulted in increased traffic jams and larger crowds, the exit ban has been adjusted to the period from 4 p.m. to 6 a.m. However, the exit restrictions were declared unconstitutional by the Constitutional Court and will therefore be repealed on April 12th.
