List of space exits

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This list includes all the space and moon trips ( English extra-vehicular activity ( EVA ) to German about spacewalk ). It describes the stay of a spaceman outside of his spaceship . On lunar excursions, it refers to the astronauts' stay outside the landing capsule. During all spacecraft activities on the moon, the astronauts were on the move without a safety device and sometimes so far away from their lander that they could no longer see it (see moon car ). With the exception of the lunar excursions and some US EVAs, all cosmonauts and astronauts were permanently connected to their spaceship by a safety line when they exited. An additional safety device was dispensed with for test purposes in seven NASA space exits:

There are also outboard activities that can be carried out without leaving the lock, such as stand-up EVA .

For some exits, the information in different sources differs. This is partly due to the fact that in the Soviet / Russian area outboard activities are calculated from the opening to the closing of the hatches, while in American shuttle missions from STS-26 the entire time spent in a vacuum, also inside the lock, is calculated.

Some of the space shuttle flights were made for the US Department of Defense. The exact course of the mission was therefore subject to confidentiality. It is possible that during these flights there were also some outboard activities that are not included in official NASA statistics.
