Mariah Carey's eleventh studio album will be released during Thanksgiving week of 2007, according to Jermaine Dupri, who was interviewed by Rap TV in June.[1] Universal Music Group chief executive Doug Morris has stated that Carey will release two new albums in 2007.[2]

Production history

Carey reportedly said she had been writing new songs while traveling on her latest tour.[3] It was reported that Carey is recording her new album and has booked a whole month in Anguilla's biggest villa and had a studio built in it.[4]

Announced producers and collaborators

Bryan Michael Cox visited Anguilla and contributed four new songs to the album.[5] T.I. was interviewed by VIBE to talk about his forthcoming album T.I. vs. T.I.P., films, and future projects. He said that he is one of the producers of one of Carey's upcoming albums.[6] According to an interview with MTV, producer Scott Storch is going to work with Mariah Carey.[7] In an M&C article, DJ Toomp has stated to work on a collaboration with Carey.[8] In an STLtoday article it was mentioned that Ne-Yo is working with Carey in 2007.[9] In an MTV News Segment, it was mentioned that will.i.am worked with Carey on her upcoming album.[1] Nate "Danja" Hills, Timbaland's producing partner, was on Virginia Beach's Z104 June 8, 2007, and said he is working with Mariah on her new album.[2] Polow Da Don said that he'll be working with Carey for her new album.[3] A Rap TV interview with Jermaine Dupri confirms that he has contributed 5 new tracks to the album.[1]A HipHopDX post states that rapper Q-Tip has recently worked with Mariah, among others.[4]

Possible and rumored producers and collaborators

Karen Clark-Sheard said in an exclusive interview with Terrell of MiddleChild Promotions in May 2007 that she would "do something with her Carey in the near future".[10] According to an interview with Mix Tape Kings, Cool, one-half of the hit-making producing duo Cool & Dre, vaguely hinted at a possible collaboration with Carey, saying "But when you got Mariah Carey on your phone asking for a hit, then...".[11] Adam Graham wrote of producer Akon in his column for the Detroit News Online that he is rumored to be collaborating with Carey.[12]
