One year later Chernomorets was restored by Mitko Sabev and started from Bulgarian amateur football division. After three years "the new Chernomorets" qualified again for the Bulgarian first division. In the 2007/2008 season the Sharks qualified for the Intertoto Cup after taking 6th place in the Bulgarian "A" proffesional football group. There, they defeated ND Gorica of Slovenia in the second round 3-1 on aggregate to set up a third round meeting with Grasshopper Zurich.
