Andrew John Hurley (born May 31, 1980 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin) is most notably the drummer of the Chicago-based punk rock band Fall Out Boy.

Personal Life

According to the February 2007 issue of Rolling Stone, Andy's father died when Andy was five and he was raised by his mother, who was a nurse.

Hurley considered himself to be a trouble maker who drank and did not listen to authority. He became straight edge in his teen years and leads that lifestyle to this day as well as a vegan lifestyle. His favorite bands were Slayer and New Kids on the Block, Hurley said in Rolling Stone.

Andy went on to attended University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and has a double major in anthropology and history.

Career

Hurley joined Fall Out Boy in 2003 after their debut album Fall Out Boy's Evening Out With Your Girlfriend. Fall Out Boy is the fourth band Andy has been in with Pete Wentz.

Hurley was also in Racetraitor, killtheslavemaster, Project Rocket, and The Kill Pill. In 1999, he was a guest drummer on Vegan Reich's "Jihad" EP.

Hurley is currently in the midst of creating a comic with a friend. The comic is called Post Collapse. Its release date is yet to be announced. Post Collapse is a perspective on how civilization ends and how it affects people's lives.

Hurley is also the leader of several fight club and Project Mayhem cells, being good friends with Tyler Durden. We forgive him for being all 'let's destroy civilization!' because he's hot.

He is also into cats. And little men.

Equipment

Hurley plays C&C Custom drums and Sabian cymbals.
