Don't Forget [2] is the debut album of singer-songwriter Demi Lovato. It was released on September 23 2008 in the United States through Hollywood Records.

Songwriting

Lovato has said that she writes music from the heart and from experiences she's had. She told J-14 Magazine: "I'm more of a writer whose stuff wouldn't make it on a Disney album. It's too dark. My mom's like, 'Oh my gosh, go to therapy.' So I came to the Jonas Brothers and I was like, 'Ummmm ... I need help writing catchy stuff just because, well, my target audience isn't metal music." [3]

"Get Back" is the first single from the album.[4] The song was released on August 12 2008; it was previously leaked on August 1.[citation needed] iTunes has released the Radio Disney edit, which changes the lyrics 'kiss me, like you mean it, like you miss me' to 'hold me, like you mean it, like you miss me'. Although it became a hit on Radio Disney[citation needed], it failed to chart in the United States.

Lovato performed "Get Back" on ABC's Good Morning America on August 11 2008.[5]

The music video premiered after the Disney Channel Original Movie The Cheetah Girls: One World on August 22, featuring the Radio Disney edit.[6]

Common Sense Media called the song "radio-friendly."[7]

Music video

The music video for "Get Back" starts on top of a abandoned building, where Demi is singing along with her backup band. As she is singing the video transitions from day to night, with lights flashing and lots of cut-shots of Demi and her band. By the end of the video they are singing in a darkened room surrounded by lights.
