Utah National Guard

The Utah National Guard consists of the:

The Utah National Guard was created on March 26, 1984 in the territory of Utah. It is a continuation of the Utah Militias which had it's origin the Nauvoo legions.

The Utah National Guards has units throughout the state and has been called to active duty in almost every major conflict excpet the Vietnam War, however, they Utah Guard had volunteers go from he Utah Air National Guard 151st Military Airlift Group, organized in August, 1957, from 1966 through 1971 flew 96 missions carrying 1,340 tons of cargo.

The Utah National Guard played host and protector to thousands of world citizens after shortly after the 9/11 attacks at the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics in 2002. They were also some of the first units to be activated for homeland security after the 9/11 attacks. The Utah National Guard were among the first units to be called up for active duty for the war in Iraq due to the engineering, military intel units and lingquistic units within in the Utah Guard.
