(10605) Guidoni is an asteroid of the main belt discovered on November 3, 1996 by the Italian astronomers Valter Giuliani and Francesco Manca at the Osservatorio Astronomico Sormano ( IAU code 587) in Sormano .
The asteroid was named after the Italian physicist and astronaut Umberto Guidoni (* 1954), who carried out electrodynamic experiments on energy generation with the tethered satellite system on his shuttle flight on board the Columbia in 1996 .
