(11510) Borges is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 11 November 1990 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory ( IAU code 809) of the European Southern Observatory in Chile was discovered.
The asteroid belongs to the Brasilia family, a group of asteroids named after (293) Brasilia .
The asteroid was named on May 23, 2000 after the Argentine writer and librarian Jorge Luis Borges (1899–1986), who wrote a variety of fantastic stories, poems and short stories.
