(13033) Gardon is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 7 October 1989 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory ( IAU code 809) of the European Southern Observatory in Chile was discovered.

The asteroid was named on August 19, 2008 after the French river Gardon , which rises in the municipality of Saint-Martin-de-Lansuscle in the Cevennes National Park and flows into the Rhone as the Gard near Comps as a right tributary .
