(1827) Atkinson is an asteroid of the main belt , which at 7. September 1926 as part of the Indiana Asteroid Program (IAP) at Goethe Link Observatory was discovered.
The asteroid was named after the British astronomer, physicist and inventor Robert d'Escourt Atkinson .
