(1836) Komarov is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on July 26, 1971 by the Russian astronomer Nikolai Stepanowitsch Tschernych at the Crimean Observatory ( IAU code 675) in Nauchnyj .
The asteroid is named after the Soviet cosmonaut Vladimir Mikhailovich Komarow (1927–1967).
