(222) Lucia is an asteroid of the outer main asteroid belt , which on February 9, 1882 by John Palisa at the observatory of Vienna was discovered.
The asteroid was named after the daughter of the Austrian polar explorer Johann Nepomuk Graf Wilczek .
Lucia moves around the Sun at a distance of 2.7 ( perihelion ) to 3.6 ( aphelion ) astronomical units in 5.6 years . The orbit is inclined 2.2 ° to the ecliptic , the orbit eccentricity is 0.14.
